My Story
I’ve always been drawn to creating. My journey began with pottery and art, moved into graphic design, and eventually grew into interior design. With only a few resources, I taught myself every skill I could, chasing that spark that comes from bringing ideas to life.
I left my family in New Orleans to attend college in Denver, where I met Jacob. What started as helping him finish the projects he was working on slowly became the foundation for something bigger. I first imagined BlueByrd not as a business plan, but as colors and feelings — a vision of a place where beauty, community, and comfort could live side by side. In April 2023, we opened our LLC and began turning that vision into a real home for others.
For me, hospitality is at the heart of it all. I’ve always been a people person, and hosting allows me to connect with guests while blending my love of design and creation. My greatest hope is that when someone visits BlueByrd, they take a deep breath, feel safe, and let out a sigh of relief.
This path hasn’t been without challenges. Becoming a new mom while working full-time and facing my own mental and physical struggles has been a balancing act. But BlueByrd has been my anchor — the place I go in my mind when I need strength. And when Jacob and I realized, in the middle of house-hunting, that we were really meant to run a park, it felt like the universe showing us our true path.
Looking ahead, I dream of our future property filled with life — 50 chickens scratching in the yard, vibrant colors surrounding us, and a park alive with families, friends, and travelers. I never planned on building this kind of life, but I love it with all my heart, and it has become the vision that shapes every day.
